INFORMATION
Jurnal Ilmiah Gema Perencana provides a mechanism for readers, researchers, and the academic community to submit responses, scholarly critiques, questions, or clarifications regarding published articles. Post-publication discussion aims to foster an academic exchange of ideas, enhance the quality of scholarly discourse, and uphold the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the publication record.
Channels for Submitting Responses
Readers and researchers may submit scholarly responses or objections concerning published articles via the official editorial email at balancejurnal@gmail.com. Submissions should include the article title, author(s) name, volume and issue number, year of publication, the DOI or a link to the article, and a detailed description of the response.
Responses must be grounded in scholarly argumentation, relevant evidence, and verifiable sources. They may address aspects such as research methodology, data analysis, interpretation of results, theoretical framework, conclusions, or other elements pertaining to the substance and integrity of the article. Critiques that are personal in nature, contain threats or discriminatory language, or are irrelevant to the scholarly discussion will not be processed as academic discourse.
Review and Evaluation by the Editorial Team
All received responses will be evaluated by the editorial team to assess their relevance, the clarity of the arguments, the validity of the evidence, and their contribution to scholarly discussion. The editors may request additional information or supporting documentation from the submitter if necessary.
If a response meets academic standards, the editors may seek an assessment from reviewers or experts with relevant subject-matter expertise. In cases involving alleged substantive errors, data inaccuracies, or breaches of research and publication ethics, the editors will address the matter in accordance with the journal’s policies on corrections and the handling of ethical misconduct.
To ensure fairness and objectivity, the author(s) of the article in question may be given the opportunity to provide a clarification or response. All parties are expected to maintain professionalism, employ polite academic language, and base their arguments on verifiable evidence.
Response and Publication of Comments
Based on an evaluation, the editor may decide to accept a response for publication, request revisions, seek a reply from the original author, or reject the response if it fails to meet scientific and publication ethics standards. Editorial decisions are based on the quality of the substance, relevance, clarity of evidence, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge—not on whether the views align with or contradict those of the original author.
Responses deemed appropriate may be published as a "Letter to the Editor," "Commentary," or another form of academic discussion consistent with the journal’s policy. Where relevant, the original author’s reply to the response may also be published, ensuring both parties have the opportunity to present their arguments in a balanced manner.
Published responses will undergo an editorial and review process tailored to the substantive requirements. The response and the original article will be linked—via citations or cross-references, where the publishing platform allows—enabling readers to follow the full scope of the discussion.
Ethical Principles for Post-Publication Discussion
The entire post-publication discussion process must uphold objectivity, transparency, necessary confidentiality, and respect for differences in scientific opinion. The submission of a response does not automatically lead to the alteration or retraction of a previously published article. If the discussion reveals evidence of errors or issues concerning research integrity, the editor will conduct further investigation and take appropriate action—such as issuing a correction, an expression of concern, or, if necessary, a retraction of the article.
The editor reserves the right to reject or decline the publication of any response that fails to meet academic standards, lacks sufficient supporting evidence, violates publication ethics, or falls outside the scope of scientific discourse. This decision is applied proportionally, with due regard for the integrity of the scholarly record.
This policy offers readers and researchers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through open, responsible, and evidence-based discussion, while simultaneously reinforcing the commitment of Jurnal Ilmiah Gema Perencana to the quality and integrity of scientific publications.
